I find joy in helping my students succeed, and believe in highly structured learning that's fun and helps kids find their own joy in music. I've been teaching piano for over 15 years, and I've taken my students from basic beginner up to performance artist levels. I achieved my ARCT in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music in 2010.
Teaching Approach

Musical Literacy
I help students build a solid foundation in music by teaching them how to read music in efficient and structured ways. We start with basic notes in the middle of the keyboard and progress into chords and advanced music notation.

Technical Execution
At the same time as students learn the notes, I show students how to play their songs methodically, by correcting mistakes in real time so that bad habits don't form and they progress fast and efficiently.

Practice Techniques
I show students how to practice on their own, and instill in them the importance of practice in partnership with their parents, so that they can achieve their musical goals.
